कोरोना काळात कर्मचारी भविष्य निधी संघटनेने(EPFO) ने एम्प्लॉयी डिपॉझिट लिंक्ड इन्शुरन्स अंतर्गत ( EDLI) मिळणाऱ्या इन्शुरन्सच्या रकमेत वाढ केली आहे . EPFO चा सदस्य असलेल्या कर्मचाऱ्याचा मृत्यू झाल्यास EDLI योजनेअंतर्गत त्याच्या वारसांना आतापर्यंत सहा लाख रुपये मिळत होते. आता त्यात एक लाख रुपये वाढवून ही रक्कम सात लाख रुपये करण्यात आली आहे. तसंच , याची किमान मर्यादा दोन लाख रुपये होती. ती वाढवून अडीच लाख रुपये करण्यात आली आहे.
EPF चे सर्व सदस्य EDLI योजनेसाठी पात्र असतात. जोपर्यंत कर्मचारी कामावर आहे , म्हणजेच त्याचा पीएफ कट होतोय , तोपर्यंत त्याला या योजनेचा फायदा मिळू शकतो. विशेष म्हणजे एका वर्षात एकापेक्षा अधिक आस्थापनांमध्ये काम करणाऱ्या कर्मचाऱ्यांना ही या योजनेचा लाभ घेता येणार आहे. ही इन्शुरन्स योजना संपूर्ण कव्हरेज देते. म्हणजेच कोरोना , अपघात किंवा आजारपण अशा कोणत्याही कारणामुळे मृत्यू झाला , तरी या इन्शुरन्सचा लाभ वारसांना मिळतो.
इन्शुरन्स क्लेम करण्यासाठी UAN पोर्टलवर जाऊन डेथ क्लेम ( Death Claim) पर्याय निवडावा लागतो. तिथे जाऊन पुढची सगळी प्रक्रिया पूर्ण केल्यानंतर ३० दिवसांच्या आत सेटलमेंटची रक्कम नॉमिनीला मिळते. या प्रक्रियेला काही कारणाने त्याहून उशीर झाला , तर त्या रकमेवर त्या काळासाठी १२ टक्के व्याजही मिळतं.
During the Corona period, the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has increased the amount of insurance available under Employee Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI). In case of death of an employee who is a member of EPFO, his heirs were getting Rs six lakh so far under the EDLI scheme. Now it has been increased by Rs 1 lakh to Rs 7 lakh. Also, the minimum limit was Rs two lakh. It has been increased to Rs. 2.5 lakhs.
All EPF members are eligible for the EDLI scheme. As long as the employee is at work, i.e. his PF is deducted, he can avail the benefit of this scheme. In particular, employees working in more than one establishment in a year will be able to avail the benefits of this scheme. This insurance plan offers full coverage. This means that in case of death due to any cause like corona, accident or illness, the heirs get the benefit of this insurance.
To claim insurance, one has to go to the UAN portal and select the Death Claim option. The nominee gets the settlement amount within 30 days after completing all the further procedures. If the process is delayed for some reason, the amount earns 12% interest for that period.
